Chemical Facility Anti Terrorism Standards (CFATS)
The Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was created to prevent the intentional misuse of specific chemicals through theft, sabotage, or attack. CFATS requires Cornell University facilities (on and off campus) to estimate the types and quantities of chemicals contained within the Department of Homeland Security's Chemicals of Interest (COI) list. If you have questions about your laboratory or facility in regards to the thresholds for the Chemicals of Interest, please contact askEHS@cornell.edu.
