This procedure reviews the proper response to the disturbance of Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) or Presumed Asbestos Containing Material (PACM).

The objectives of this standard procedure include the following: to maintain indoor air quality within acceptable levels according to ASHRAE and OSHA guidelines; and to respond to indoor quality concerns effectively and to make recommendations for improvement.

The Cornell University Mold Remediation program is intended to outline the correct procedures and work practices for Cornell University Personnel when mold is discovered and when conducting mold remediation.

Interior fires can result in the release of vapors, gases, and particulates that can cause both acute and chronic health issues. Even after the fire is extinguished there is the potential for harmful airborne contaminants to be present in the area. The purpose of monitoring the air quality post-fire is to ensure the contaminate levels are below established limits prior to the space being reoccupied.
