The laser safety community has recently developed concerns about the availability of affordable handheld laser pointers so dangerously high-powered that even instantaneous exposure to the direct beam could result in permanent, catastrophic eye injury. These products are available through third-party sellers on seemingly reputable marketplaces such as Amazon.com and are being marketed with innocuous descriptions like camping supplies, pet toys, and tactical flashlights.

Safety Signage Templates Protected Document
The following guidance document establishes the requirements for the use and customization of safety signs at Cornell University. Safety sign templates have been developed to aid University personnel in providing safety information and labeling real or potential hazards. This guidance document and the corresponding safety sign templates are compliant with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) specifications for accident prevention signs and tags.
